When a person travels as a passenger rather than a driver, safe access and restraint still matter. We prescribe and support funding for passenger vehicle modifications, including:

• wheelchair lifts and hoists

• lowered-floor conversions and ramps for wheelchair-occupant travel

• wheelchair tie-downs and docking stations

This is a more straightforward pathway than driver modification. We assess the person’s needs, prescribe the appropriate solution, and support funding applications through NDIS, TAC or aged care where applicable.
